Fine food and wine
Young on a Platter is an annual event which showcases the fine foods and wines of the Young and Hilltops region.

"Young on a Platter" has been held annually since 1998 and is a feast of local fare, food, wine and fun for all the family.

The event is held in Carrington Park, Olympic Highway, the weekend after Easter each year.

The main aims of the one day event are to promote local food/produce and wine; provide entertainment for the community and to bring visitors to town.

The event has been successful each year with the major sponsor being Burrangong Meat Processors together with smaller sponsors.

Live entertainment throughout the day has encouraged people to bring along their folding chair or blanket and relax under the trees while listening to music.

Representatives from the "Hilltops" wineries served tastings of the wines served tastings of the wines and different food producers provided delicious fare at lunch time.

Approximately 3-5,000 people attended the one day event which has proved popular over the past four years.
Sheep dog trials, speed shearing and amusements for the children completed the day!
