Young Shire Council maintains the following sports grounds in Young. The Young Aquatic Centre is open for approximately 6 months of the year during the warmer spring, summer and autumn period.

Young Shire offers beautiful landscaped parks and picnic areas perfect for any occasion. Many of these have BBQ and picnic areas and playground facilities.
All the playground equipment in Council's parks and reserves are tailor-made for children and meet the Australian Standards.
Children with a disability don't miss out, either. There's a Liberty Swing at Carrington Park and the Mylak Key this can be organized through the Young Visitor Information Centre.

Council is required to classify all public land as operational or community land. Generally, the parks, reserves and sports fields within Young Shire are located on land classified by Council as community land or they are on Crown reserves which are under the management of the Council.
